Tesla's Autopilot computer found something that limits driver-assistance features, so they were reduced or switched off for that drive. Tesla's service description lists three causes: a blocked camera, lost communication with a camera, or a turn signal light that is not working as expected. The car still drives normally under your control. Tesla's internal name for this alert is APP_w269_autopilotLimited.
What to do
- 1Keep driving normally. Tesla's own message says features may be restored on the next drive.
- 2Clean the windshield in front of the camera housing and the side and rear camera lenses.
- 3Check that every turn signal lights up, including the small repeaters on the front fenders, since a failed turn signal can also trigger it.
- 4If it shows up on most drives with clean cameras and working signals, have the cameras checked.
