Surface
Level concrete or asphalt. Jack stands need solid ground that will not shift or sink.
Space
Room to open a door fully on the side being worked, plus space for a floor jack.
Permission
Your driveway is easy. Apartments and condos depend on building rules.
What kind of surface works for mobile Tesla service?
A Tesla is heavy, and every suspension or brake job starts with lifting it at its factory lift points and setting it on stands. That only works on ground that stays put.
- Good: concrete or asphalt driveways, home garages, and paved parking garages.
- Usually fine: a gentle driveway slope, with the wheels chocked.
- Problem spots: gravel, dirt, grass, or a steep hillside driveway. If yours is steep (plenty are in the Oakland hills, Los Gatos, and parts of San Francisco), say so in your quote request and we will plan around it.
How much room does the crew need around the car?
Less than most people think. A good rule is enough space to swing a door fully open on the side being worked, plus room at the front or rear to roll in a floor jack. If the car is parked tight against a wall or a second car, we can usually just pull it forward or back a few feet once we arrive.
Garage ceiling height is rarely an issue. The car only goes up far enough to pull the wheels and reach the suspension, not overhead like in a shop.
Can you service a Tesla in an apartment or condo garage?
Often, yes. Plenty of Bay Area owners park in a shared garage, and an assigned spot with a little space beside it works well. The catch is the rules, not the space. Some HOAs and property managers allow vehicle work in the garage and some do not, so check first. Let us know the building, the spot, and any gate or access details when you request a quote.
How should you prep before the RideRite van arrives?
- Clear the space. Move bikes, bins, and the second car if it is boxing the Tesla in.
- Leave out the wheel lock key if your wheels have locking lug nuts. A missing lock key can stall the whole job.
- Pause the sprinklers if they are scheduled during the visit.
- Plan key access. If you will not be home, tell us ahead of time so we can sort out a key card.
- Note the symptoms. If you hear a noise, jot down when it happens: over speed bumps, turning into driveways, or braking. It helps the crew confirm the fix.
- Model S and Model X owners: cars with air suspension need Jack Mode on before they are lifted, so the car does not try to level itself on the stands. The crew handles it. Just leave the car parked as it is.
What happens during a mobile Tesla service visit?
A fully stocked service van pulls up with the jacks, stands, tools, and parts for your job already on board. The crew sets up beside the car, works one corner at a time, torques everything to spec, and cleans up before leaving. You can keep working from home, and when the job is done we walk you through what was replaced.
The same setup covers most of what we do: coilover installation, Tesla suspension upgrade kits, control arm replacement, brake pads and rotors, and suspension noise diagnosis and repair. For the full list, see our mobile Tesla service page.
Some suspension work changes alignment. If your job does, we will tell you up front so you can plan an alignment afterward. Every job is backed by our workmanship guarantee: 2 years or 24,000 miles on parts and labor.
FAQ: mobile Tesla service at home
Can RideRite work on my Tesla in my driveway?
Usually, yes. A level concrete or asphalt driveway with room to work beside each wheel is all most suspension and brake jobs need. Steep slopes, gravel, and dirt are the usual exceptions.
Can a Tesla be serviced in an apartment or condo garage?
Often, as long as the building allows vehicle work in its garage. Check with your HOA or property manager first, and note the spot details in your quote request.
Does a Tesla need Jack Mode before it is lifted?
Model S and Model X with air suspension do. Jack Mode stops the car from trying to level itself while it is on stands. The crew sets it, so just leave the car parked as it is.
What should I do before a mobile Tesla service visit?
Clear space around the car, leave out the wheel lock key if you have locking lug nuts, pause any sprinklers, and plan how the crew will get a key card if you will not be home.
Is mobile suspension work covered by a guarantee?
Yes. RideRite backs its work with a 2 year or 24,000 mile workmanship guarantee on parts and labor.
