Although there are numerous transmissions available for racers to choose from, the GM two and three speed automatics seem to be some of the most popular transmissions in the performance transmission market. Many racers would argue that a Chevrolet Powerglide transmission, when matched with the proper rear gear, is the quickest and most consistent of all existing transmission designs.
